Who we are

Horizen Counseling and Wellness (“we”, “us”) is the private therapy practice of Christopher Figueroa, LMFT. This policy explains what information this website collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies to this website only; information you share in the course of treatment is protected separately under California law and HIPAA and is governed by the Notice of Privacy Practices you receive as a client.

Information we collect

  • Contact form. Your name, email address, phone number (optional) and the message you write. Please do not include detailed health information in the form.
  • Insurance platforms. If you click the Grow Therapy, Rula, or Alma logo, you leave this website. Those services collect information under their own privacy policies.
  • Technical data. Like most websites, our host records basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, used only to keep the site running and secure.

How we use it

To respond to your message, arrange a consultation, and keep the website working. We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.

Cookies and analytics

This site does not set marketing or advertising cookies. We use Jetpack Stats, provided by our website host WordPress.com, to count visits and see which pages are viewed. It does not identify you personally. Fonts and other embedded services may set their own cookies under their own policies.

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. This site does not currently change how it works in response to that signal. We do not track you across other websites.

Sharing

We share information only with the service providers needed to run this site and deliver your messages (our web host and email provider), and when required by law. Information shared as a client of the practice is handled under the Notice of Privacy Practices, not this website policy.

Security and retention

Messages sent through the contact form are delivered by email to the practice and kept only as long as needed to respond and, if you become a client, as part of your record under applicable retention rules. Email and web forms are not a fully secure medium, so please keep messages brief and leave out health details.

Emergencies

This website is not monitored around the clock and is not for emergencies. If you are in crisis, call or text 988, text HOME to 741741, or call 911.

Children

The website is intended for adults and for parents or guardians enquiring on behalf of adolescents. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 through this site.

Your choices and rights

You may ask what information we hold about you from this website, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to our legal record-keeping duties. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA; to exercise any of these, contact us using the details below.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time; the date at the top shows the latest revision.
